Providing support to the most marginalised and disenfranchised in our local community

"The Ace of Clubs is an open access outreach project in Clapham, London. We provide support to the most marginalised and disenfranchised in our local community, with a specific focus on the homeless. We strive to prevent homelessness through meeting the basic needs of the people we support and through transformational support. The Ace of Clubs offers food, housing support, welfare advice, clothing, showers, laundry, toiletries, healthcare and much more. We never turn anyone away. We try to respond to every need that presents itself at our doors. We offer a range of educational and training activities as well as recreational groups. We have been serving the needs of our local community for 26 years and we depend on the support of a small and committed team of volunteers.

It is our mission to get people back on their feet and feel that there is hope in the future. At the moment we are helping between 120 and 180 people per day. In 2020 we served 37,711 meals, with 196 meals being the highest in one day. The number of people coming to us for help increases year on year due to the recession, benefits changes and a severe increase in homelessness. In addition, government cuts to public services mean that more people than ever now depend on Ace of Clubs for support".
